Job Details

Under limited supervision, performs intermediate to advanced accounting functions related to tax specifications. Employees in this role act as a lead by assigning work and providing guidance to lower-level associates. This position requires knowledge of intermediate accounting and/or tax principles, typically gained from several years of experience as an Experienced Associate, along with the ability to manage work, oversee progress, and meet deadlines. The Senior Associate utilizes research skills, applies tax foundational knowledge to identify potential issues, gathers client information necessary for filing, participates in tax planning, recognizes and communicates risks, prepares tax accrual workpapers, and works with tax software to complete tax returns for review.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Leading, managing, and holding people accountable (LMA)
  • Learning and applying growth processes (participates in assigned RC, pipeline support, COPs, etc.)
  • Supervising project management, billing, and ensuring quality control standards
  • Maintaining client relationships by meeting deadlines and communicating timely
  • Developing engagement team members and preparing seniors for advancement
Essential Functions:
  • Understanding and explaining the firm’s policies, procedures, practices, and project management techniques
  • Possessing sufficient technical knowledge to supervise lower-level associates
  • Ensuring all work papers are complete, consistent, and documented with procedures, evidence, and conclusions
  • Developing skills to build quality client relationships
  • Identifying key issues and discussing solutions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Demonstrating proficiency with firm software
  • Building expertise in GAAP, GAAS, and other audit/tax techniques
  • Exhibiting strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with team members, management, and clients
  • Providing timely feedback to lower-level associates
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2, typically 3+, years of experience in public accounting, corporate, or tax accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related coursework; CPA preferred or actively pursuing
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, partnerships, and tax software
  • Prior supervisory experience and experience preparing/reviewing tax provisions preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and tax research databases
