I'm Doug Johnson, owner of Doug Johnson CPA. I'm looking for a part-time Tax Senior to join our small, growing team! Note: our planned start date is 12/14/26.
Doug Johnson CPA is a small, growing CPA firm that competes on responsiveness and an excellent client experience. The most common complaint we hear from clients is “I could never get ahold of my last CPA” - and that's the problem that we exist to solve. Quality work is table stakes - client experience is our North Star.
Before I get into the details of the role, I want to make one thing clear - this is a job where work-life balance is paramount. We work to live, and not the other way around. More than ever, most employers these days seem determined to squeeze the life out of their employees. I built this role to deliver the opposite experience - to be a job that doesn't burn you out, and that allows you to live a great, fulfilling life outside of work.
Please note that this job is for US applicants only.
An experienced Tax Senior (with small business tax experience) looking for a stable yet stimulating role with top-tier work-life balance (WLB) and flexible off-season hours. You should be excited about working closely and directly with high earners and small businesses, and contributing to the client experience that makes the firm what it is!
How do we plan to maintain the hard cap on hours, even during tax season? Great question. This year, we're implementing a return scheduling system, meaning we'll limit the flow of returns that enters our prep queue every week - allowing us to spread our workload out over the year and ensure we can actually maintain WLB during tax season.
