Job summary

Wertz & Associates in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Tax Senior to join our growing CPA and advisory practice. This role emphasizes more than tax prep; you’ll work directly with entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and business owners to identify planning opportunities and advise on tax strategies.

You’ll develop technical tax knowledge while strengthening client relationships and advancing toward supervision and management roles, with mentoring and CPA support throughout.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, and S‑corporation tax returns.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Review client financial information and supporting documentation.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance: Assist with complex tax engagements and projects.
  • Tax Research & Planning: Research tax laws and technical issues.
