Job summary

The Forvis Mazars, LLP Talent Alignment Group is seeking a seasoned scheduling and analytics professional to align talent deployment with client needs. You will forecast hours, manage utilization, and collaborate with engagement teams to optimize staffing and reporting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years' experience, advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), and familiarity with AI tools to boost efficiency and data insight. This role offers growth within a leading US accounting firm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel with VLOOKUP, pivot tables.
• Experience and knowledge using AI tools to improve efficiency, support data analysis, and enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling of talent to appropriate client assignments based on timing, travel, levels, skills, and other necessary requirements at the direction of the Talent Alignment Resource Manager
• Using scheduling tools to forecast hours, track utilization, and monitor headcount, chargeable hours, and overtime
• Managing open needs by identifying solutions and proactively surfacing alternative solutions
• Collaborating with engagement teams to maintain an updated scheduling system with realistic information for reporting
• Understanding staff skills, experiences, and career goals to ensure optimal client assignment alignments
• Maintaining a pulse on current and future needs and capacity
• Analyzing resource data and trends around availability, utilization, and variance data
• Collaborating with leaders to ensure alignment with strategy and opportunities
• Building relationships with client-serving personnel and internal teams
• Innovating and promoting firm-wide talent deployment
• May serve as a manager or coach for lower-level staff

What You Will Do

• Scheduling of talent to appropriate client assignments based on timing, travel, levels, skills, and other necessary requirements at the direction of the Talent Alignment Resource Manager
• Utilizing scheduling tools to forecast hours, track/manage utilization, and monitor overall headcount, chargeable hours, and overtime to ensure work is distributed
• Managing open needs by identifying solutions as well as anticipating potential conflicts and proactively managing them by generating ideas and surfacing alternative solutions
• Collaborating with engagement teams to maintain an updated scheduling system with realistic information to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting
• Maintaining an understanding of the skills, experiences, and career goals of professional staff to ensure optimal client assignments alignments; ensuring skills and interest profiles are updated regularly as required
• Maintaining a strong pulse on current and future needs and capacity.
• Analyzing resource data / identifying trends around key data and metrics such as availability, utilization, actual vs scheduled variance data, team leverage, and open needs
• Collaborating with the leaders to ensure consistency and alignment with strategy, elevating areas of opportunity, concern, or performance challenges
• Building strong relationships with client serving personnel at all levels as well as collaborating closely with other Internal Firm Services teams (e.g., Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Operations)
• Works together with peers to innovate, educate and promote consistent firm-wide talent deployment
• May serve as a manager or coach for lower-level staff

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including efficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, and Claude
• Experience and knowledge using AI tools to improve efficiency, support data analysis, and enhance productivity

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Current and valid CPA or RMCP
