Job summary

Milestone Tax Solutions is seeking a Tax Resolution Assistant to support Tax Professionals in resolving client tax matters. You will draft IRS/state resolution documents, perform tax research, and manage client communications from an early-stage startup setting.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of tax experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask while navigating complex tax issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of tax practice, controversy, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients.
• Ability to learn new software and adapt to procedures.
• Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review IRS transcript data and reporting to inform client solutions.
• Draft collection forms for CNOC options, Installment Agreements, Offers in Compromise, and Appeals.
• Serve as primary client liaison by collecting and validating financial documentation.
• Provide clients with timely updates on case status.
• Identify deadlines and escalate as needed (appeals windows, CDP deadlines).
• Prepare internal case summaries for Tax Professional review before calls with IRS/state agencies.
• Document all findings and actions in the CRM to maintain an audit-ready record.
• Ensure all activity aligns with statute-sensitive deadlines.
