Job summary

Stripe is looking for a software engineer to build tax reporting products for platforms and their users. You’ll take projects from discovery and technical design through implementation, launch, and operation.

Your work may include improving tax information collection, building APIs and data pipelines, automating reporting processes, and strengthening the reliability of production systems. AI-assisted development will be part of your day-to-day work as you design, build, test, and operate

Qualifications

• Experience building, testing, and maintaining production software in one or more general-purpose programming languages (Ruby, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, etc)
• Experience delivering software projects from problem definition through launch
• Ability to make technical decisions and communicate tradeoffs through code, design documents, and technical discussions
• Experience debugging and operating production systems
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate features across tax reporting user experiences, APIs, services, and data workflows
• Turn user and business needs into clear technical approaches and deliver projects from concept to launch
• Build scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable software supported by appropriate tests
• Improve tax reporting workflows through automation and operational tooling
• Review code and collaborate with engineers to improve implementation quality and share technical context
• Monitor production systems, respond to incidents, and improve reliability, observability, and runbooks
• Partner with product, tax operations, support, and engineering teams to deliver solutions that meet user needs
