Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring seasonal Tax Professionals to serve a diverse client base with expert tax support and guidance. You will conduct client interviews, prepare accurate tax returns, and help grow the practice by offering additional services.

You'll work with a team to deliver high‑quality service, use virtual tools for interviews, and receive advanced training to succeed during the busy tax season. Local franchise offices host the roles, with opportunities for mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Provide clients with IRS support (including audit representation per Circular 230 rules)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Your Expertise:

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
