Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Tax Professional to serve clients with diverse tax needs. You’ll deliver professional tax services, conduct interviews, and prepare accurate returns in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers extensive training and the opportunity to grow with an established franchise network. The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting, professional credentialing (CPA/EA) and 5+ years of tax experience, including virtual interview capability and audit support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred.
• 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email).
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support (notice services and audit representation per Circular 230).
• Mentor and support teammates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environmentComfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
