Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Professional to serve clients with diverse tax needs, supported by expert training. You’ll conduct tax interviews in-person and through virtual tools, prepare complete tax returns, and drive client growth while increasing retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred.
• Experience completing individual returns and complex returns (trust/partnership).
• 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews (video/phone/chat).
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients in person and via virtual tools (video/phone/chat/email).
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products/services.
• Provide clients with IRS support; notice services available at various certification levels.
• Mentor and support teammates.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

CPA or Enrolled Agent certification

Experience completing individual returns

5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax

Experience conducting virtual tax interviews

Experience with tax planning and audit support

Sales and/or marketing experience

High school diploma / equivalent or higher

  • Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation
• Mentor and support teammates

Your Expertise:

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment²
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
