H&R Block in Chicago, IL is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional to serve a diverse client base with the support of an expert team and advanced tax training.

You will conduct client tax interviews face-to-face and virtually, prepare complete returns, and identify opportunities to grow the business while delivering trusted IRS support and accurate filings. This role values collaboration, client service, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

  • Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation

Your Expertise:

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher

Pay Range

$18.00 - $20.00/Hr.
