Job summary

H&R Block in Bellefonte is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional to serve clients with diverse tax needs with support from an expert team and advanced tax training.

This role requires conducting tax interviews, preparing complete returns, and generating business growth while maintaining client relationships and IRS compliance in a fast-paced, technology-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is preferred.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth and increase client retention.
• Provide clients with IRS support including audit representations where applicable.
• Mentor and support teammates.

Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment2
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
