Job summary

CLA, a top national professional services firm, seeks a Tax Principal or Signing Director to lead a tax team and deliver compliance and advisory services in Western Washington. You will manage a book of clients, review engagements, and drive opportunities to improve client outcomes.

The role requires CPA, 10+ years in public accounting tax, and a track record of leadership, client relationship building, and practice growth within a professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA).
• 10+ years of public accounting experience in a tax role with a public accounting and/or professional services firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of tax and industry professionals to deliver tax compliance and consulting services, mentoring the team to understand clients’ businesses.
• Assume full responsibility for all services for clients in a book of business.
• Review and sign engagement letters, discuss assignments with clients and staff, and approve fees.
• Review and approve work papers and tax returns prepared by staff.
• Review and sign client deliverables.
• Keep current on tax law changes.
• Actively develop new business and expand services to existing clients.
• Demonstrate commitment to the firm through dedication to the practice.
