Job summary

FedEx Corporation in Memphis, TN seeks a senior tax professional to research, propose, and organize the development and implementation of tax policies ensuring compliance with tax laws. You will collaborate with business partners and outside advisors on company-wide planning and support acquisitions and restructurings.

  • Work with business partners and outside tax advisors on tax issues and organize the development and implementation of company-wide tax planning initiatives.
  • Provide tax support on corporate acquisitions, divestitures, and internal restructurings including due diligence and integration.
  • Support tax compliance and tax accounting teams on tax implications of transactions.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess income tax impacts.
  • Research and document complex tax issues and prepare executive summaries.

Job description

To research, propose and organize the development and implementation of tax policies to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Work with business partners and outside tax advisors on tax issues and organize the development and implementation of company-wide tax planning initiatives.
  • Provide tax support on corporate acquisitions, divestitures, and internal restructuring transactions including assistance with tax due diligence, post-acquisition integration, compliance disclosures, and effective tax rate calculations.
  • Provide support to tax compliance and tax accounting teams on tax implications of transactions.
  • Monitor issues/changes in tax laws/regulations and assess/model the related income tax impacts.
  • Research and document complex tax technical issues and their impact to the company.
  • Prepare executive level summaries and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in accounting, business, finance or related discipline. CPA/MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • Six (6) years directly related experience in regional, international public accounting firm, or corporate tax department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of U.S. corporate tax matters for non-U.S. operations such as foreign tax credits, Subpart F, look-thru, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, dual consolidated losses, foreign currency gain/loss, transfer pricing considerations, etc.
  • Understanding of U.S. international tax attributes - Earnings & Profit, PTEP, tax basis (inside & outside), etc.
  • Experience with U.S. International tax compliance, provision, and/or modeling.
  • Capacity to understand automation and analyze data in real-time to add tax technical value to business decisions - tech savviness.
  • Ability to foster collaboration with cross functional teams and take initiative in a fast-paced environment with a flexible outlook.
  • Excellent project management, problem solving, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Sound technical knowledge of various taxation areas for corporations.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred location for this hybrid position is Memphis, TN. However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the following states: Arkansas, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.

Pay Transparency

Pay: $6,746.53 USD/Month - $15,515.63 USD/Month

The compensation listed reflects the pay range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position at the posted location or locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the pay information represents the ranges for each level in that job family. Actual pay is determined by several job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, including, but not limited to, experience relative to the job, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. In California, the compensation listed reflects the range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position upon hire. In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non-exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
