Louis Tommasino CPA & Associates in San Diego is seeking a staff accountant and tax preparer for our University City office. The role is full-time (40 hours) with peaks of 50 hours during busy seasons. Salary ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 based on billings and experience.

The position offers bonuses, growth with a dynamic firm, and opportunities to expand tax planning services with clients. You will work with individuals, businesses, and trusts, using Lacerte and QuickBooks to prepare and file

Qualifications

• 4+ years tax preparation experience using Lacerte.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) registration minimum requirement.
• Experience with individual, corporate, partnership, and trust/estate tax returns.
• Ability to discuss tax planning and tax minimization strategies with clients incoming advisory role.
• Ability to review financial statements with client advisory and knowledge of QuickBooks.

Responsabilités

• Interview clients to gather financial information and documentation for tax returns.
• Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership income tax returns per tax laws and firm procedures.
• Enter and review tax information, verify trial balances, and prepare workpapers.
• Compare current-year returns with prior-year to identify discrepancies or errors.
• Prepare and distribute tax organizers, communicate with clients about missing information.
• Research tax issues using professional resources and assist in resolving notices from tax authorities.
• Identify potential tax-planning opportunities and refer to senior tax professionals.
• Print, assemble, and organize tax returns and maintain client document records.
• Prepare weekly client status updates and work plans.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets for tax prep and accounting analyses.
• Update internal tax manuals and procedures as needed.
• Assist in supervising junior tax preparers and data-entry personnel.
