Job summary

Venture Personnel represents a rare opportunity with a boutique CPA firm in the Bradenton–Sarasota area seeking a Tax Manager who can take true ownership of the tax practice. The role offers a defined path to partnership within about five years and a culture that values emotional intelligence along with technical skill.

Expect to lead the tax service line end-to-end, review complex returns, and drive proactive planning for owner-operated businesses with real estate concentration.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license (required for signing engagements and for the partner path).
• 5–8+ years of tax experience in multi-client public accounting or an outsourced/CAS environment.
• Multi-entity technical depth across 1040, 1120-S, 1120, 1065, and 1041.
• Demonstrated review experience — reviewing and signing off on the work of others.
• People-management experience with a record of coaching and developing staff.
• Hands-on, working-manager orientation.

Responsibilities

• Own the tax service line end-to-end across a dynamic multi-client, multi-entity book of business.
• Review and sign off on returns for 1040, 1120-S, 1120, 1065, 1041 (individual and entity).
• Drive proactive, year-round tax planning for business owners — structure, compensation, timing, multi-state.
• Serve as the firm's go-to technical authority on tax matters: research, document, defend positions.
• Coach, develop, and grow the tax team; plan capacity and workflow through filing season.
• Advise clients directly as a trusted partner alongside CFO advisory and accounting teams.
• Help shape the direction and growth of the tax practice with firm leadership.
