Confidential Employer in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Tax Practice Leader to build and lead a high-impact tax services practice with ownership over strategy, growth, client delivery, and operations. This role partners with executive leadership to shape offerings, processes, and standards in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

You will recruit and develop a top tax team, drive multi-year growth, oversee compliance and advisory work, and translate complex tax concepts into practical guidance

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or tax advisory.
• 2+ years of supervisory or people-management experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling a tax practice or service line.
• Strong expertise in business and individual tax compliance, planning, and advisory.
• Knowledge of entity structuring, pass-through taxation, and transactional tax matters.
• Experience serving small business and mid-market clients, $1M–$100M revenue.
• Ability to lead high-performing teams with strong client service and accountability.
• Executive-level communication skills translating complex tax concepts for business owners.

Responsibilities

• Set vision and lead growth of the tax services practice.
• Define service offerings, delivery standards, pricing, workflows, staffing, and priorities.
• Develop multi-year growth roadmap covering client growth and revenue goals.
• Lead high-level tax strategy and planning engagements for entrepreneurs and mid-market organizations.
• Oversee tax compliance, estimates, filings, planning and advisory work.
• Advise clients on entity structuring, pass-through taxation, and major business events.
• Build trusted executive relationships with clients and drive strategic decisions.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain tax managers, CPAs, and advisors.
