Responsibilities

• Review tax closings, book closures, and tax preparation as a Topside Reviewer.
• Handle client inquiries on compliance matters such as income tax, franchise tax, sales/use tax, labor, and benefits.
• Conduct tax and accounting research to ensure accurate reporting; develop budgets, assign workloads, and review reports.
• Possess knowledge in specialty tax areas like trusts/estates, M&A, foreign tax reporting, and local tax matters.
• Grow and maintain a referral network to generate new business opportunities.
• Provide high-level consulting on profitability, forecasting, controls, project management, and succession planning.
• Lead and motivate staff, earning their trust and providing clear direction.
• Oversee engagement teams, ensuring milestones are met during all project phases.
• Maintain strong client relationships through positive interactions.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance.
• Contribute to firm growth through business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification required.
• Minimum 12 years of public accounting experience, including 6+ years in managerial roles.
• Strong tax knowledge essential.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Outstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of QuickBooks, Bloomberg Tax Planner, CCH Axcess, and other tools is a plus.
