Work Environment: Primarily Onsite (Hybrid Option Outside of Peak Season)
Position Overview
We are partnering with a well established tax and wealth management organization seeking a Tax Operations Manager to lead the people, workflow, and day to day execution behind its tax processing and front office functions.
This is not a tax preparation or tax review role.
The focus is people leadership, workload management, training, process improvement, and ensuring consistent execution across multiple office locations. The successful candidate will lead tax processors and front desk associates while partnering closely with tax leadership, HR, systems, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop tax processors and front desk associates
- Conduct regular one on ones, performance discussions, and team meetings
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development
- Serve as the primary escalation point for personnel and workflow challenges
Workflow Management
- Manage daily workload distribution across processing teams
- Monitor work in progress, deadlines, capacity, and turnaround times
- Reallocate resources as needed during peak filing periods
- Coordinate front desk coverage and service standards across locations
Training & Process Improvement
- Develop and deliver training for new and existing team members
- Maintain clear procedures for tax processing and front office workflows
- Improve processes related to intake, assembly, delivery, and client support
- Support implementation of new systems, tools, and workflow enhancements
Cross Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Tax Directors, HR, Systems, and operational leadership
- Translate technical standards into consistent day to day procedures
- Help ensure processes are standardized and effectively executed across offices
Qualifications
- 3 or more years of leadership experience within tax, accounting, financial services, professional services, or another high volume processing environment
- Proven experience training, coaching, and developing employees
- Strong organizational and workload management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Experience
- Multi office team leadership
- Document management or client portal systems

- Base salary of $85,000 to $90,000

Schedule
Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Additional hours may be required during peak filing periods. Some flexibility to work from home may be available during non peak seasons.
