KPMG is seeking a Manager for our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge fund, fund of funds, private equity, real estate).
2. Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, providing industry knowledge and experience.
3. Review tax calculations and data on state income tax returns.
4. Build and maintain client relationships, supervise, mentor, and develop staff.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum five years of recent experience preparing/reviewing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, with technical advice on multi-state issues.
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX license (or other approved credentials). If not held at start, must obtain within one year.
3. Experience with pass-through entities and relevant state tax concepts.
4. Ability to foster internal and client relationships.
5. Strong teamwork, communication, project management, and tax research skills.

California Salary Range: $91,900 - $174,000.
