Job summary

Leoforce, a North Carolina-based public accounting firm, seeks a Mid Level Tax professional to join our Raleigh team, handling complex engagements for individuals and pass-through entities with a focus on planning, compliance, and advisory services.

You will mentor staff, supervise engagements, and collaborate with partners on strategic tax solutions, while upholding client relationships and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA License or EA designation preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of public accounting experience with a concentration in taxation.
  • Significant experience with Individual, S Corporation, C Corporation, and Partnership taxation.
  • Experience providing tax planning, consulting, compliance, and advisory services.
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong tax research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
  • Healthcare and/or Dental industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with tax software such as UltraTax, CCH ProSystem fx, or ProSeries.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax planning, consulting, compliance, and advisory services.
  • Research complex federal and state tax matters and develop practical client solutions.
  • Manage engagement timelines, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
  • Collaborate with Partners, Principals, and firm leadership on client engagements.
  • Review work prepared by staff for accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and develop tax professionals.
  • Serve as a technical tax resource for the department.
  • Assist with engagement staffing and workload management.
  • Train employees on software, processes, and firm procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Support firm growth initiatives and strategic goals.
