Job summary

The Agency in Dayton/Cincinnati area seeks a Tax Manager to own a portfolio of individual and business clients, review complex returns, and lead planning work. This role offers a hybrid schedule and clear path to senior leadership within a long-established CPA firm.

You will mentor staff, manage engagements from start to finish, and help drive proactive planning for high-net-worth families and closely held businesses. CPA license preferred and a strong client-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Active CPA license.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax compliance and advisory engagements for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
• Review complex returns for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Build and implement proactive tax planning strategies for business owners and families.
• Serve as primary contact and trusted advisor for closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients.
• Research complex tax issues and present recommendations to clients and leadership.
• Support trust, estate, and succession planning work.
• Manage engagement workflow, staffing, budgets, and deadlines.
• Mentor and develop staff and senior accountants.
• Handle IRS and state notices and disputes.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and advisory work.
