Job Description

The Tax Manager, Private Client & Family Office Services manages the full lifecycle of all assigned finance and accounting outsource engagements. Responsibilities include proposal development, staff assignment and oversight, final work product review, and overall portfolio financial performance. The PCS-FOS Manager is also responsible for client relationship management, including regular meetings with clients and staff, reporting financial information, making recommendations, timely billing, and resolving client issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full lifecycle of engagements, providing technical expertise in finance and accounting functions.
  • Understand client technology packages, describe their functions, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Facilitate discovery meetings, understand client objectives, and design tailored solutions.
  • Determine costs and benefits of solutions, propose fixed fees, and ensure profitability.
  • Formulate recommendations on technical accounting issues and assist in business development.
  • Review and adapt solutions periodically, support clients through business changes, and manage conflicts.
  • Gather information from clients, organize data, and build strong relationships.
  • Understand tax planning considerations for various entities and refer issues to specialized teams when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Develop others through training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage projects using best practices, ensure timely billing, and oversee client satisfaction.
  • Research tax issues, develop strategies, and improve processes.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, and participate in recruiting and onboarding.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred) with 6+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of experience without a degree.
  • MBA or Master’s in Accountancy (preferred).
  • 2+ years supervisory experience (preferred).
  • CPA certification (preferred).
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks Online, Microsoft NAV, Bill.com, and research tools (preferred).
Other Skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
Compensation

Range varies by location, e.g., National: $90,000 - $125,000; Colorado: $95,000 - $125,000; Maryland: $100,000 - $110,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $90,000 - $125,000; Washington DC: $110,500 - $125,000.
