Tax Manager or Tax Sr. Manager - Investment Funds

Your role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to :

  1. Technical Responsibilities
  2. Review partnership tax returns, including federal, foreign, state, and local returns, estimated payments, extensions, and assist with federal and state tax audits; potential work with corporate or individual clients
  3. Participate actively in investment fund clients (private equity, venture capital, real estate, fund of funds, SBIC, etc.), primarily focused on partnership entities and tiered structures
  4. Define tax objectives, scope, and methodology; participate in decision-making with client management to understand broader impacts and solutions
  5. Identify tax solutions and opportunities for clients, including credits and benefits from tax law changes
  6. Leverage technology (such as GoSystem) and resources to maximize technical application and maintain standards within the team
  7. Serve as the primary engagement manager, responsible for billing, realization, and collections
  8. Relationship Building and Staff Development
  9. Engage in internal and external networking, including client meetings and industry events
  10. Contribute to business growth through proposals and sales calls
  11. Supervise and develop 1-2 associates per engagement, focusing on client management and technical skills
  12. Work directly with Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners internally, and with clients’ accounting and executive teams externally
  13. Firm Contributions
  14. Participate in annual CORE training for skill development
  15. Engage in non-billable initiatives like recruiting, training, mentoring, and thought leadership

The qualifications:

  1. 5+ years in public accounting
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  3. CPA or Bar License required
  4. Willingness to relocate or reside near Chicago, Denver, Ann Arbor, or Cincinnati; regional client travel and occasional overnight training and events
  5. Position may be filled as Manager or Senior Manager based on experience
