Job summary

We are seeking a Tax Manager or Director in California to lead engagements, mentor staff, and advance client tax strategies in a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in public accounting tax, a BA/BS in accounting or finance, and an active CPA.

For Director, JD or EA may substitute. Compensation ranges from $112,700 to $190,000 annually, with robust benefits and growth

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA certification.
• For Tax Director, JD or EA may substitute for CPA.
• Agribusiness, food & beverage experience preferred.
• Strong desire to mentor and develop others.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Tax Manager / Director

CLA is looking for a Tax Manager or Director to join our growing AFB practice!

How you’ll create opportunities in this Tax Manager role:

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.

What you will need:

• You have a minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with a public accounting firm.
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have an active CPA certification.
• For the Tax Director position, a JD or EA may be accepted in lieu of a CPA certification.
• Agribusiness, food and beverage industry experience preferred.

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. The compensation range for this position in CA is $112,700.00 - $190,000.00 Annual #LI-MM1
