Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking a Tax Director/Manager to join our Wisconsin Tax practice across multiple cities. You will consult with clients on tax planning, lead engagements, and mentor staff while building opportunities for clients and communities.

The ideal candidate has extensive public accounting experience, CPA certification, and a track record of leadership. JD or EA may substitute in certain cases; relocation to Wisconsin locations is common within this role.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.
• 10+ years experience highly preferred.
• Active CPA certification required; JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster opportunities for clients, communities, and people.
• Attend industry events and trainings to stay current.
• Perform tax procedures appropriate to engagement size and complexity.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.

About The Role

CLA is looking to hire Tax Manager or Director for our growing Wisconsin Tax practice. Locations include : Eau Claire, Appleton, Green Bay, Hudson, La Crosse, Madison, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Racine, Sheboygan, Stevens Point, Tomah and Wausau.

As a Tax Director/Manager You Will

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.

As Our Ideal Candidate

• 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm, driving strategic management.
• 10+ years experience highly preferred.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• You have an active CPA certification. A JD or EA may be accepted in place of a CPA certification.
