Job summary

Raya Workforce LLC seeks a Tax Manager to oversee tax engagements, mentor staff, and support growth of our New Jersey practice. The role focuses on closely held businesses, partnerships, and individual clients with close collaboration to leadership.

The candidate will manage diverse tax work, provide planning and advisory services, and develop client relationships while contributing to firm growth across a national platform.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing licensure).
• 4 to 6 years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on taxation.
• Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance.
• Experience reviewing returns and supervising staff.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Experience with tax and accounting software platforms commonly used in public accounting.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire for long-term professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review business, partnership, corporate, and individual tax engagements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Prepare and review tax returns, projections, and related workpapers.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory services for closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and technical expertise.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop senior accountants and staff accountants.
• Coordinate workflow, manage deadlines, and oversee engagement budgeting and scheduling.
• Research and resolve federal and state tax issues, including multi-state matters where applicable.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to improve processes, workflow efficiency, and client service delivery.
• Support implementation of technology and best practices across engagements.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across AFG s growing national network.
