Dauby O'Connor & Zaleski, LLC (DOZ) is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with clients, manage tax engagements, and help develop tax professionals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license with strong federal/state tax knowledge and research skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Minimum five years public accounting experience.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with tax software; experience with CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax compliance services for partnerships and not-for-profit organizations within the affordable housing and community development industry.
• Provide tax compliance services for corporations and individuals within the real estate industry.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering timely, responsive, and exceptional service that exceeds client expectations.
• Assist with managing, developing, and mentoring professional tax staff.
• Review federal and state tax returns prepared by tax staff.
• Delegate responsibilities effectively and monitor the progress and quality of tax engagements, as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Tax Seniors, Tax Managers, and firm leadership to manage workflow and support the development of tax personnel.
• Research complex federal and state tax matters, apply findings to client engagements, and communicate conclusions clearly to clients and internal team members.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
