Miller Cooper & Co., Ltd. is seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing team in Chicago, IL. This full-time role focuses on leading tax engagements for partnerships, corporations, and individuals, while mentoring junior staff.

You will provide strategic tax planning, ensure quality results on time and within budget, and collaborate with a diverse client base across industries. A CPA and 5+ years in public accounting are required, with strong client service and entrepreneurial drive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MST preferred.
• CPA License required.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience, mid-market firm, including manager level.
• Strong client service orientation and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Daily access to reliable transportation to travel to client locations and offices.

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns for Partnerships (1065), S and C-corps (1120), Individuals (1040) and others, ensuring quality results on time and within budget.
• Actively mentor staff and seniors during engagements, supporting career progression.
• Provide consulting and tax-saving strategies to clients and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Demonstrate proactive client planning and build value for clients.
• Learn about clients, their industry and processes to offer tailored advice.
• Schedule and staff engagements to improve realization and utilization, and build referrals.
