Job summary

Archer Lewis, LLC is seeking a Tax Manager to lead tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for diverse clients across industries. You will guide senior associates, manage engagements, and ensure high-quality deliverables while staying current with evolving tax laws.

In this role, you’ll develop tax strategies, supervise staff, and collaborate with other service lines to provide integrated client solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience.
• 2+ years supervisory/management experience in tax.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience with tax planning, research, and advisory services.
• Familiarity with ASC 740 and income tax provision reporting.
• Proficiency with tax software such as CCH, Thomson Reuters, GoSystem, or similar.
• Advanced Excel and Office Suite skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor tax professionals including senior associates and staff accountants.
• Manage multiple tax engagements and ensure timely deliverables.
• Review complex federal, state, local, and international returns for various entities.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and firm standards.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
• Serve as a technical resource for complex tax matters.
• Conduct and review tax research and prepare memos.
• Manage tax audits, examinations, and controversy matters.
• Oversee ASC 740 income tax provision when applicable.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and client opportunities.
• Build strong client relationships and support business development.
• Leverage tax technology to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and other service lines.
