Job summary

Frontline Source Group seeks a Tax Manager in Mesa, Arizona for a direct-hire hybrid role. You will oversee a sizable portfolio of business and individual tax clients, reviewing returns and providing planning, advisory, and client leadership.

This is not a pure tax-prep position. You will mentor associates, manage multiple engagements, and develop proactive strategies while building long-term client relationships with owners who have multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Significant public accounting tax experience.
• Strong tax return review experience.
• Experience in tax planning and advisory services.
• Experience working directly with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple complex engagements and priorities.
• Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• EA credential or comparable level of demonstrated tax expertise.
• CPA license preferred.
• Previous Tax Manager experience in a public accounting firm.
• Experience supervising or mentoring tax professionals.
• Experience managing a substantial client portfolio.
• Experience with business owners and clients with multiple entities.
• CCH Axcess experience.

Responsibilities

• Review individual and business tax returns prepared by the tax team.
• Oversee approximately 150 to 200 client relationships representing roughly 400 to 500 tax returns.
• Provide proactive tax planning, strategy, and advisory services.
• Work with business owners who may have multiple entities, ventures, and individual tax considerations.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
• Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
• Guide and support Tax Associates and other members of the tax team.
• Research complex tax matters and develop practical solutions.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with clients.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and other team members.
