Job summary

Delagnes, Mitchell & Linder, LLP is seeking a tax leader to oversee all tax-related decisions and activities, ensuring compliance with new tax laws and client expectations.

This role will manage complex returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts; lead tax planning; build long-term client relationships; supervise staff. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of public accounting tax experience, strong communication, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  • Lead tax planning and consulting engagements to minimize tax exposure and support client goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, building long-term relationships.
  • Research and interpret tax laws; provide guidance on complex technical matters.
  • Oversee multiple engagements, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and managers; provide performance feedback.
  • Review workpapers and returns for accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
  • Assist with IRS and state tax audits, examinations, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with partners on firm initiatives, workflow, and business development.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.

We are looking for a leader! Someone who can see themselves as partners in the future. The ideal candidate will be involved in overseeing all tax related decisions and activities in the organization. You will help us stay tax-compliant and up-to-date on new tax laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
  • Lead tax planning and consulting engagements, identifying opportunities to minimize tax exposure and support client goals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships
  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations; provide clear guidance on complex technical matters
  • Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and managers; provide performance feedback and coaching
  • Review workpapers and returns to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to firm standards
  • Assist with IRS and state tax audits, examinations, and correspondence
  • Collaborate with partners and leadership on firm initiatives, workflow management, and business development efforts
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)

  • Prior experience managing or training managers and senior staff
