Qualified Professional & Technical is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead an established Richmond book of business and prepare a path to ownership. The role emphasizes staff development, client service, and shaping tax processes within a growing firm.

The ideal candidate brings CPA/EA credentials, strong public accounting experience (Big 4 valued), and a collaborative, growth-minded approach to drive the Richmond operation forward.

Qualifications

• Public accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
• Big 4 experience preferred
• At least 2 years of managerial experience
• Strong knowledge of tax code and compliance
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business returns
• Experience with trust and nonprofit tax
• Tax planning and advisory experience
• Experience developing and overseeing staff
• CPA or EA credentials preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage an existing book of business and develop client relationships
• Prepare and review individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns
• Provide tax planning, consulting, and advisory support
• Serve as primary tax resource for clients and team
• Review tax returns for accuracy and compliance
• Manage workflow, deadlines, and engagements
• Lead and develop direct reports and staff
• Provide guidance and technical support to staff
• Communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients
• Identify opportunities to improve policies, processes and workflows
• Contribute ideas as firm grows through acquisitions
• Support growth of Richmond operation
