Job summary

Pelican Production, Inc. is seeking a Tax Manager in Torrance, CA to lead domestic and international tax compliance, reporting, and planning. You will shape tax strategies, identify savings opportunities, and partner with leadership to support global operations.

The role oversees US federal/state tax returns, estimated payments, ASC 740, VAT, and transfer pricing, with collaboration across Finance, Accounting, and other departments to ensure accurate reporting and tax efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and researching tax issues.
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state corporate taxation.
• Knowledge of corporate tax reporting, compliance, and tax planning.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee U.S. federal and state corporate income tax compliance, including preparation and review of tax returns.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual estimated tax payments and extensions.
• Manage ASC 740 tax provisions, reporting, and compliance, including uncertain tax positions and unrecognized tax benefits.
• Oversee sales and use taxes and franchise taxes.
• Coordinate responses to federal and state tax audits, examinations, and inquiries.
• Support tax budgeting and financial planning activities.
• Develop domestic tax strategies with external tax advisors.
• Evaluate business activities to ensure compliance and identify tax-efficient approaches.
• Oversee international tax returns and transfer pricing studies.
• Coordinate VAT compliance activities and international notices.
