Job summary

ATR in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Generalist Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance for federal, state, and local returns and to mentor a team of tax professionals. The role includes working with individuals, partnerships, S-corps, trusts/estates, and nonprofit considerations based on experience.

The position offers a hybrid work setting with 2-3 days in the office, a strong compensation range, and opportunities for growth into partner-in-training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with 1040, 1120S, and 1065.
• CPA certification required for Managers & Sr Managers; EAs considered for Supervisors.
• 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and reporting, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage tax compliance and reporting for federal, state, and local returns.
• Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and payments.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and communicate impact to the business.
• Conduct research and provide guidance on tax issues for clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tax considerations in initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.
