MOHR Talent is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead a diversified tax practice for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. The role requires CPA certification and strong public accounting proficiency across complex engagements.

You'll mentor staff, manage engagement workflows, and collaborate with partners while delivering strategic tax planning and client communication. Expect a dynamic environment with leadership opportunities and peak-season hours.

Qualifications

• Active CPA required.
• Strong public accounting tax experience.
• Experience reviewing and managing complex tax engagements.
• Experience with high-net-worth individual taxation and pass-through entities.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising tax professionals.
• Strong technical tax research and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CCH and QuickBooks Online preferred.
• Experience supporting clients in manufacturing, construction, and nonprofit industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex tax engagements from planning through completion.
• Review individual, pass-through, and other complex tax returns.
• Manage engagement workflow, budgets, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Review workpapers and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Research technical tax matters and assist with tax planning strategies.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development to staff.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Communicate tax matters, engagement progress, and recommendations directly with clients.
• Identify client needs and opportunities for additional services.
• Collaborate with partners and team members to resolve complex tax matters.
• Support staff development and broader practice initiatives.
