CLA is hiring a Tax Director/Manager to support our growing St. Louis and Kansas City offices. The role centers on advising clients on tax planning and business processes, leading engagements, and mentoring teams, with opportunities to advance within a national professional services firm.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA (or JD/EA in some cases), with 6 years of relevant experience and 10+ years preferred. A passion for public accounting and corporate tax is essential.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.
• 10+ years experience highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA certification; JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.

• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with engagement size and complexity.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
