KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Business Tax Services practice.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee client portfolios of various sizes and scopes within the alternative investment fund industry (private equity, real estate, hedge funds).
2. Act as the first point of contact for internal and external clients.
3. Manage teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projects.
4. Assess tax impact on clients of rules and law changes, develop tax arguments, and make recommendations.
5. Facilitate risk management and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and budgeting.
6. Deliver high-quality tax services to clients.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of recent tax experience in the alternative investment industry.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or other approved credentials. Candidates without an approved credential have one year from hire to obtain one.
• Proficient in taxation of partnerships and tiered investment fund structures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information.

California Salary Range: $96,800 - $187,500.
