Job summary

Andersen is seeking a Manager in our Alternative Investment Funds tax practice. You will oversee tax projects, provide innovative planning, consulting and compliance for hedge funds, private equity, real estate and venture capital clients.

You will lead business development, maintain client relationships and ensure timely delivery of complex returns. The role requires 4+ years in accounting with Alternative Fund experience, CPA/JD, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in an accounting firm with at least 3 years in Alternative Fund experience.
  • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the IRS (CPA or JD).
  • Self-starter with initiative to pursue opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient use of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in business development activities (proposals, webinars, cross-selling tax strategies).
  • Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and deadlines, and stay current on legislation.
  • Conduct primary and secondary review of complex federal and state tax returns.

The Role

Managers in our Alternative Investment Funds practice oversee and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance for a variety of clients, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, fund of funds and venture capital.

Managers can expect to:

  • Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals, present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to market comprehensive tax strategies for prospective clients, etc.)
  • Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, remain current on legislative changes, and lead change effectively.
  • Conduct primary and secondary review of complex federal and state tax returns.
  • Supervise, train, mentor and evaluate the performance of Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
The Requirements
  • 4+ years relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 3 years of Alternative Fund experience;
  • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree; Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree (Preferred);
  • Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (i.e. CPA or JD);
  • Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; and
  • Proficient use of technology.
