Leoforce is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead multiple tax engagements and deliver high-quality services for diverse clients. You will prepare and review federal/state returns for individuals, businesses, and exempt entities, while building strong client relationships and guiding staff through complex tax matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation, research, and planning software.
  • Experience with complex tax returns for various entity types.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state tax, and planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and client service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of tax code, compliance and corporate procedures.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving with creative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare memoranda, guidance, and other documents for IRS/Treasury submissions.
  • Train staff and review their work.
  • Direct and monitor engagements on planning, consulting, and compliance.
  • Review returns and identify tax savings opportunities; expand responsibilities.
  • Top-level review of tax issues with clients and involve specialists as needed.
  • Handle client tax questions and collect information for returns.
  • Stay informed of current tax developments and apply knowledge to client situations.
  • Analyze information to provide practical, creative tax solutions.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients.
  • 2. Preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations.
  • 3. Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.
  • 4. Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the IRS or Treasury Department.
  • 5. Train staff, review and evaluate their work.
  • 6. Manage, direct and monitor multiple tax engagements teams on a variety of tax issues, including planning, consulting and compliance.
  • 7. Review tax returns prepared by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gain increasing responsibility in review process.
  • 8. Conduct top-level review of T/R and resolve all tax issues with client; involve specialists where appropriate.
  • 9. Handle client tax questions, and work with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance.
  • 10. Stay informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
  • 11. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information and prepare practical and creative solutions to client's tax situations.
Qualifications
  • 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree or CPA designation is highly preferred.
  • 2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend.
  • 3. Proficiency in use of computer tax preparation, research, and planning software programs.
  • 4. Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for 1120S, high net worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
  • 5. Experience with federal and state tax, income tax, tax planning, and tax returns.
  • 6. Excellent interpersonal communication and client service skills.
  • 7. Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • 8. Knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  • 9. Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements.
  • 10. Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • 11. Analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement creative solutions.
  • 12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently.
