Job summary

Talent Acq Llc, on behalf of a Providence, RI public accounting firm, seeks a Tax Manager for a hybrid role. The candidate will lead tax return work, mentor staff, and advise diverse clients while pursuing a path to Partner.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of federal and state income tax preparation and review in public accounting.
• Experience with tax planning for closely held businesses and owners.
• Track record of training, mentoring, and supervising staff while managing multiple engagements.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and an active CPA license; MST is a plus.
• Drive to take on leadership and advance toward Partner.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and entities (S and C corporations, partnerships, LLCs, trusts).
• Research complex tax issues and translate law into practical strategies for diverse clients.
• Serve as trusted advisor and primary contact, strengthening client relationships.
• Mentor and develop Staff, Seniors, and Supervisors, and collaborate with firm leadership on reports and planning.
• Shape the firm’s direction through process improvement and training initiatives.

What you will do

• Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns across individuals, businesses, and entities, including S and C corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and trusts.

• Help shape the firm from the inside through process improvement and training initiatives.

What you bring

• Experience with tax planning for closely held businesses and their owners.
• A track record of training, mentoring, and supervising staff while managing multiple engagements and client relationships across a range of industries.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting and an active CPA license. An MST is a plus.
• The drive to take on more and grow into a Partner.
