Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience.
• CPA license or CPA eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other flow-through entities.
• Lead and manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring timeline and accurate delivery of services.
• Analyze client data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop senior associates, associates, and interns, providing technical guidance and feedback.
• Stay informed on current tax issues and agricultural industry trends to provide proactive advice.

This role is based in North Platte, Nebraska, with flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.

What You’ll Be Doing

Education & Experience

What You’ll Need for This Position

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience.
• CPA license or CPA eligibility preferred.

Technical Expertise

• Proven background in tax compliance.
• Experience in tax return preparation and review across multiple entity types.
• Tax project leadership/management and supervisory experience.

Core Competencies

• Digital fluency, including ability to learn and navigate CCH Axcess Tax.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify patterns and issues.
• Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building ability.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel up to 20% annually.

Compensation:

In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000 - $125,000.
