Job summary

Pinion is seeking a Tax Senior to deliver specialized tax solutions for clients in the commodity crop sector, combining technical excellence with leadership opportunities. You will manage complex projects, mentor staff, and build strong client relationships within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

The role focuses on serving clients in agriculture, with hybrid work options across Lenexa, Wichita, Salina, or Indianapolis.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other flow-through entities.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Need for This Position

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• CPA eligibility/license preferred.

Technical Expertise

• Strong background in tax compliance across multiple entity types.
• Experience in tax return preparation and review; project leadership preferred.

Core Competencies

• Digital fluency, including ability to learn and navigate CCH Axcess Tax.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify patterns and issues.
• Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20% annually).

Compensation: In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 - $96,000.
