Bacardi is seeking a Tax Compliance and Accounting leader for its NAM operational entities, based in Miami, FL. You will drive U.S. federal/state filings, tax accounting, and transfer pricing, coordinating with the NAM Tax Team and Global Tax to strengthen standardization and automation across the North America Hub.
The role requires 5+ years of federal/state income tax experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and SAP proficiency. CPA/MST preferred; Spanish is a plus.
You will lead the Statutory Tax Compliance and Accounting for the Company’s NAM operational entities. You will work together with the rest of the NAM Tax Team delivering against the objectives to strengthen the process, enable more standardization and opportunity for continual improvement to achieve a level of greater assurance the Company’s North American Hub remains in full compliance with all relevant tax obligations.
The NAM Hub includes the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. You will develop a full understanding of current compliance posture, the processes that support Statutory Accounting, Corporate Income Tax, Sales and Use and country specific local tax reporting compliance to ensure timely and accurate compliance for NAM entities.
You will work closely and partner with the Company’s shared service team and their processes that form the basis for the Statutory Accounting and Tax Reporting and the means by which each NAM affiliate accesses the relevant financial and other data. Key objectives also include formulating requirements to deliver improved automation of tax processes in coordination with the Senior Tax Manager – Global Shared Services.
This role will require you to be able to juggle additional tasks including the timely and accurate forecasting and periodic tax financial reporting, administering of transfer pricing, supporting tax audit and controversy resolution and assisting with tax strategy and business support in the NAM Hub under the direction and responsibility of the Senior Tax Manager – North America and other members of the Global Tax team. You will be based in Miami, Florida.
Drive Results and excellence in execution of NAM Tax Compliance
1) Ensure the accurate and timely filings of the U.S. Federal, State/Local for various NAM entities
2) Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of tax financial reporting submissions
3) Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of federal, state, provincial estimated tax payment.
4) Support indirect tax compliance as required (i.e., sales and use tax, beverage tax, Canadian GST/HST/QST, and other non-income tax)
Successful Resolution of Tax Audits
Assist in federal and state income tax audits, as needed
Consistent and Accurate Transfer Pricing
Develop Talent and Capability
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
5+ years of experience with federal and state income tax compliance
Strong tax technical skills including UNICAP and working knowledge of U.S. transfer pricing regulations
Strong experience in cost accounting
Strong tax financial reporting skills and working knowledge of US GAAP including reserves, deferred tax accounting, valuation allowances, etc.
Working knowledge of SAP with the ability to retrieve account balances and journal entries
Inquisitive and curious about the business and drive for results
Highly disciplined and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective collaboration skills to work successfully in a team environment
BS in Accounting
CPA or MST preferred
The following experiences are preferred:
Big 4 accounting firm experience or comparable preferred
Experience with US IRC Sec 263A Uniform Capitalization Rules, and foreign tax credit strongly preferred
Branch accounting experience preferred
Fluency in Spanish an asset
