Responsibilities

As a Permanent Tax Manager, your primary duties will include

  • Overseeing and managing the company's tax planning, compliance, and accounting for income taxes.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and other business-related filings.
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
  • Developing and executing strategic plans for tax matters.
  • Working closely with auditing teams to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Defending the company in audits by tax authorities.
  • Managing and mentoring members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
  • Collaborating with departments across the company to ensure tax strategies align with business goals.
  • Keeping up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
  • Working with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role
  • Active CPA
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Strong ability to utilize and leverage financial and tax software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree, CPA, or other advanced certification is highly desirable.
