Job summary

The role demands a CPA with 6–10+ years of public accounting tax experience, strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, and a client-focused, proactive approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
  • Active CPA license (required)
  • 6–10+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
  • Experience reviewing complex individual and business tax returns
  • Proficiency with tax software (e.g., CCH, UltraTax, ProSystem fx, Lacerte) and Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and other entities
  • Research and interpret complex tax issues and provide practical, well-documented recommendations
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and proactively advise clients on tax minimization strategies
  • Stay current on tax law changes and communicate impacts to clients and internal team members
  • Review and oversee extensions, estimates, and other required tax filings
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and maintain strong relationships
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding tax matters, deadlines, and planning opportunities
  • Manage multiple engagements and meet firm and client deadlines
  • Assist partners with client presentations, proposals, and ongoing advisory services
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and senior associates
  • Review staff work for technical accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm standards
  • Provide timely feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations

Job Overview:

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and reviewing complex tax compliance and consulting engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. This role includes overseeing tax staff, ensuring technical accuracy, improving processes, and contributing to the firm’s growth through client service excellence, practice development, and staff mentoring.

Primary Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Advisory

Required Qualifications:
