Job description

Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager | South Florida | $130k to $180k

If Partnership is the end goal, this is one of those opportunities where the path is actually there rather than something vaguely promised for \"one day\"

One of the current Partners is planning to retire within the next 4 years, and the firm wants to bring someone in now who can gradually absorb that client base, build trust with the wider team and position themselves to step into Partnership

It's a small, boutique practice, so you'll be close to the clients, close to the decision making and genuinely involved in where the firm goes next

The Partner leading the firm is very laid back, open to new ideas and wants someone who can help grow the practice rather than just maintain what's already there. Culture matters a lot here, and so does long term fit

The flexibility is a big part of the appeal too. Hybrid is preferred initially while you get to know the clients, the systems and the Partners, but longer term this can become around 80% remote.

There's trust here, not micromanagement or clock watching

I helped a Senior Tax Associate join the firm last year from another similarly sized practice where they weren't getting the flexibility they needed. They love it here and the feedback has been consistently positive around the culture, the Partner and the freedom they now have in how they work

Ideally, your background will include:

  • Significant preparation and review experience across complex Individual, S Corporation and Partnership returns
  • Strong Real Estate Developer and Partnership Tax experience
  • M&A Tax experience, including purchase price allocations and Form 8594
  • S-Corporation M&A transactions
  • Section 1202 and QSBS transactions
  • Any Audit exposure would be a bonus

You'll also need to be strong with clients and comfortable speaking directly with business owners, attorneys and other advisors, identifying planning opportunities and explaining complex Tax matters clearly

The firm is also very open minded about how Accounting is changing. They're interested in AI, better systems, smarter processes and anything that can make the firm more efficient, so ideas are welcomed rather than shut down

This is a genuine succession opportunity with a clear reason why Partnership is opening up, a Partner who actually wants someone to step up, and the flexibility to build a career without giving your whole life over to it
