A leading New England CPA and business advisory firm is seeking an experienced Strategic Business Solutions Manager to join its growing team.
The firm is a nationally recognized accounting and advisory organization with more than 350 professionals, providing assurance, tax, accounting, and business advisory services to private and publicly held companies throughout the United States and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for a public accounting professional with strong financial statement, accounting, tax, and team leadership experience. The successful candidate will oversee multiple client engagements, manage client relationships, supervise staff, and provide practical accounting and tax support to privately held businesses and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Service & Engagement Management
- Serve as a day to day client contact for assigned engagements, developing strong relationships and supporting overall client satisfaction.
- Manage multiple client engagements across a variety of industries and business types.
- Oversee compilation and review engagements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with professional standards, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate engagement schedules and monitor progress against budgets, deadlines, and client expectations.
- Identify potential issues and escalate them to Partners or Senior Managers when appropriate.
- Prepare and review client billings and support discussions regarding fees, scope, and engagement expectations.
- Prepare and review financial statements and related workpapers for compilation and review engagements.
- Support clients with accounting and financial reporting needs.
- Assist with business and individual tax planning, including the preparation and review of tax returns, projections, and related advisory deliverables.
- Provide guidance on accounting, tax, and business matters affecting privately held companies, business owners, and individual clients.
- Collaborate with Partners, Senior Managers, and other professionals to identify issues and develop appropriate client solutions.
- Contribute to special projects and other advisory assignments as required.
- Supervise, delegate, and review work performed by Associates and Seniors.
- Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with firm quality standards.
- Coach and mentor staff, providing ongoing feedback and supporting their professional development.
- Assist with training, workflow management, and the continued development of junior team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
- 5 to 7 or more years of relevant experience in public accounting or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification required.
- Experience managing multiple engagements and supporting client relationships.
- Strong experience with compilation and review engagements.
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and QuickBooks.
- Experience with BNA Tax and or ProSystem fx Fixed Assets preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and client facing communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, delegate responsibilities, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, Partners, Managers, and internal teams.
- Salary of $120,000 to $145,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
