The ideal candidate will aspire to be a key member of our team and will help with day to day management of the tax and accounting projects as well as to develop the ability to be able to help manage the practice. Public accounting experience required including previous tax compliance experience and the desire to research tax and accounting issues and manage projects. The tax manager will help prepare some complex projects and help review a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnerships, S corporation, C corporation and trust/estate tax returns. The tax manager will be required to research legislation and exercise professional judgment to identify and resolve complex issues within the tax returns.

Responsibilities
  • Review income tax returns for S corporations, partnerships, C corporations, individuals and trusts
  • Prepare some complex tax returns and tax/accounting projects
  • Perform tax research and prepare written memoranda
  • Communicate with partners and clients relating to questions or information requests needed to complete assigned projects
  • Handle challenging technical projects
  • Identify client service and engagement efficiency opportunities
  • Perform IRS, state and local problem resolutions for tax notices using tax practitioner helpline and online resources
  • Help training less experienced associates
Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of public accounting firm experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting
  • CPA licensure
  • Solid understanding of basic and moderate tax and accounting issues
  • Solid experience in review of S corporation, C corporation, partnership and individual income tax returns. Other areas like trust/estate or ASC 740 provision for income taxes may be developed through work experience here
  • Strong analytical aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication is required
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a public accounting, deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe
  • Desirable experience in CCH ProSystems Tax, CCH Engagement but not required
