Job summary

UHY is seeking a Tax Intern in Pleasant Valley Township, IA to support the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses. You will gain exposure to a diverse client base across multiple industries and collaborate with internal teams to produce high-quality deliverables.

You will build technical tax skills, engage in research, and participate in client communications while learning through hands-on assignments within a professional services firm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accounting/finance degree program.
• Basic understanding of federal/state/local tax concepts.
• Early exposure to tax software and processing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and entities.
• Organize and review client-provided financial information for accuracy.
• Input data into tax software, compute liabilities, deductions, and credits.
• Conduct tax research and interpret applicable laws and guidelines.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates.
