Job summary

National Life Group is seeking a Corporate Tax Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting federal and state income tax compliance, income tax provision, tax research, and related projects. The intern will work with experienced tax professionals and cross-functional teams across National Life Group.

This 10‑week paid internship runs June 1 to August 6 with onsite work four days per week (Mon–Thu core days subject to change).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in the quarterly income tax provision process supporting the financial close.
• Support quarterly and annual federal and state income tax compliance for the NLG group and Charitable Foundation.
• Assist with process improvements and updates to tax schedules, workpapers, and templates.
• Support tax ledger system testing, validation, and related tax process activities.
• Conduct tax research and support tax advisory and planning activities.
• Support tax audits and information requests, cross‑department projects and communications, team training, and other special projects as time permits.
